Trip to Korea, what to eat in Seoul?

Hai everybodeh,
TIME is passing by way too fast, way too fast... I can't believe my two weeks of holiday in Seoul just ended like that, so freaking fast! I miss Seoul, I miss having kimchi and rice as breakfast, I miss Seoul's food, I miss staying with Lisa I miss walking around in Hongdae, Myeongdong, Garosu-gil, Itaewon and other places ugh. Now back to reality, I've been spending too much this year and seriously I have to start saving money. This year I really travelled a lot but I'm really happy I made it to Korea, traveling to Seoul is one of my dream. Finally one ticked off my bucket list and now I'm targeting to the US and the UK heh.

So, people been asking me questions about my Seoul trip, such as where did I stayed in Seoul for the past weeks, where to eat, where to shop, what I've bought and so on... Well, here's all the answers! Accommodation: I've been staying at Lisa's place for the weeks and because of her I've saved so much money on this trip. For those who asked me where to stay in Seoul, I'm so sorry I couldn't give you any tips about the hotels as I've said, I crash in my girlfriend's place  :(
Flight: to-and-fro air ticket for RM550, I know right it's so damn cheap. We get to booked the promotion flights to Korea although we bought it quite last minute tho. Lucky us
Food/Transportation: about RM2k? I spent quite a lot on food and desserts but I don't even bother how much it cost because they looked so yummy I just can't resist.
Shopping: spent RM1.5k? Not gonna tell you what I've bought, because I want to write about it on the next blog post heh.

For now, let's begin with " What to eat in Seoul for lunch or dinner"

Restaurant // 천호 in the kitchen
Venue // Cheonho-dong, 서울특별시 강동구 천호동 454 - 15. 2F
Price range // 12,900 krw - 18,900 krw

Had italian food for dinner after a long journey on the first night. I know right, why italian? Cause Lisa's place is located around that area so we didn't want to go somewhere far since we're so exhausted. I can say this is one of my favorite restaurant in seoul, it was damn good.

Beef steak and seafood spaghetti with tomatoes sauce

What's captured seems like an usual meal but it's actually pretty big portions as you can see from this picture above and also they named themselves as a family restaurant which all their dishes are specially cooked in big portions. It's better to come with a big group because it's really big portion, even though me and Lisa were so hungry but we still can't finish 'em up.

Restaurant // Myth Jokbal 미쓰족발
Venue // Hongdae , 홍대
Price range // 25,000 krw - 36,000 krw

If you don’t know what jokbal is, it’s basically a korean dish consisting of pigs' feet cooked with soy sauce and spices for a long time till it get tender and it is usually served in dark braising liquid, made from soy, ginger, garlic, rice wine. To be honest I don't eat pig's feet at all because I think it's very eww disgusting but since I'm in Korea I decided to give it a try and I pretty like it. Lisa said jokbal is one of the food I have to try in Korea and this restaurant is one of the popular jokbal restaurant in Seoul which there are people queueing up outside of the restaurant everyday. No joke, I'm one of them lol I did queued for it and I'm glad I did because it was so yummy.

Restaurant // 치르치르(Chir Chir) Fusion Chicken Factory
Venue // Myeongdong, 명동
Price range // 15,900 krw - 36,000 krw

Nomming fried chickens with drinking beers is one of the popular thing to do in korea night life. Chir Chir Chicken is extremely popular for those who are drinkers in korea but compare to malaysia we either drink in mamak or bar/pub lol so much different. How I wish we have Chir Chir in Malaysia, I love their environment and food :( They are open till 3am everyday and they serve all kinds of italian dishes with fried chickens such as spaghetti and pizza.

Super cute tongs
Boneless fried chicken with pasta cream cheese sauce and spicy fried chicken with almonds and crispy rice

Restaurant // James grilled back ribs with cheese 제임스치즈등갈비
Venue // Hongdae, 홍대
Price range // 2,000 krw - 18,000 krw

One of the latest food trend you must try in Seoul, Spicy cheese grilled back ribs! That's like taking some grilled back ribs that have been coated in a spicy flavor and then dip them in a bed of cheese, nyum. You can choose the spicy level according to your own favor, there are 3 spicy levels, which are mild, spicy and very spicy. I suggest you guys to order either mild or spicy because it was so spicy even though we ordered mild and luckily there's cheese to helps us tone down the fire in our mouth. It was so damn spicy but I just can't stop eating it lol.

Restaurant // Gilbert's Burger & fries,
Venue // Shinsa-dong, 강남구 신사동 545-3
Price range // 5,000 krw - 15,000 krw

One of the best burger I had in Seoul and I'll definitely come back for it, it's something like the one I had in Tokyo's which called the great burger. These two are the best burgers I had so far, no other burgers can compare to them.

Mario Burger

Restaurant // Doni Babsang 도니밥상
Venue // Gang Dong Yeok number 3 exit, 강동역
Price range // 5,000 krw - 30,000 krw

What else have to eat in Seoul? Of course Korean Barbecue jjang!

Restaurant // Les deux plats 레뒤플라
Venue // Itaewon, 이태원동
Price range // 5,000 krw - 20,000 krw

When the first time I came to Itaewon, I feel like I'm not in Korea because there are way too many foreigners in the area. I can say 7 out of 10 is foriengers? I guess Itaewon is one of the favourite Seoul location for foreigners because of all the Western food establishments, bars, and stores which make the place not so korean.
“Les Deux Plats” is a three floors french restaurant with a heavy Italian influence. We decided to dine in at their rooftop terrace and we throughly enjoyed our meal, love the atmosphere.

Restaurant // Oven baked & roasted chicken 건대 오빠닭
Venue // Konkuk university station, 건대입구역
Price range // 5,000 krw - 20,000 krw

Another latest food trend you must try in Seoul, ice-cream salad with sweet chilies crispy baked chicken! I know it sounds like a weird food combination right? But it's damn good, believe me you must try!

That's all for today. Next will be cafes and desserts!

My beauty secret of slimming face

Some say that lose weight could make your face smaller, but from what I know slimming down doesn't affect your face getting smaller. Because masseters are two bulky muscles also known as chewing muscles on each side of the angle of our jaw which help us to chew and it is possible that you have big masseter muscles that's why it causing your face look rounder, bigger or too square. With excessive chewing or teeth grinding, the masseters at the jawline can grow to quite a size causing the jaws to look square, much like how body builders grow their abs and pects by training them. But don't worry there's a way to slim the jawline which is injecting Botox to relaxing the muscles for shrinking the jawline, thereby reducing the square jaw appearance.

And yeap, that's how I have my smaller face right now. This treatment is called Skinartesse Roti Face is a customized non surgical face slimming treatment by Dr Rachel Chew from Rachel Chew Clinic based on individual face, hence there is no fixed treatment to treat chubby face.
In my case, Dr Rachel Chew combined few material for me. She injected botulinum toxin (botox) by Allergan on my jaw to relax my muscle and some on my chin so that my chin look more define. She also added some hyaluronic acid (dermal fillers) by Juvederm on my chin and Skinartesse Power Lift treatment to burn the fat on the side of my face. I'm so glad that I met Dr. Rachel my most trusted doctor which because of her, I feel more confident with my look right now and I can take nice side profile already :p

Many people think that botox and fillers are the same thing but no they are not. Fillers fill and Botox relaxes. I know some of you may ask, how often should you get fillers and botox injections? And you're probably wondering how long do they last. While these fillers only last about a year, if someone gets work done that they aren't happy with the result, there is a reversing agent called hyaluronidase that breaks up the hylauronic acid. This will immediately eliminate the filler. If you don't like the results of your Botox treatment, you can only simply wait it out. Botox isn't permanent so in a few months, the treated area should return to its pre-injection state. This can take about 4 months or more. It depends on your age, older people with less muscle tone may see results diminish sooner than those with younger, firmer facial muscles. However, this seems to differ from one person to another. Some obtain a longer-lasting effect with repeated use, while others seem to develop a resistance to the drug and need more frequent treatments. But normally doctors are not recommended to have injections in the same injection site more frequently than every three months. As with the injection of any medication, your body's immune system can develop antibodies to the medication, which render the drug less effective or possibly cause development of an allergy to the drug. The more frequently the drug is injected or the more quantity that is injected, the higher the risk for these antibodies to be formed against the drug.

I sounded like an expert LOL Actually I got all these infomation from a website just to let you guys know more about fillers and botox heh. Don't worry people, fillers and botox are found naturally in nature and used in proper doses by approved licensed doctors, they are effectively safe. They are not that scary as you thought, you may have heard some of the side effects but all these side effects are not really an issue with them, they are relatively safe when performed by an experienced doctor, so most importantly select your doctor carefully!

Here's some pictures of me before and after with the treatment,

Top 10 things to bring when I’m on a travel job

Hey peeps, I’m finally back in town after two weeks of digital fashion week in Singapore and Bangkok * take a deep breath * I’m so lazy to unpack my stuff and go through all my two-weeks abandoned works now.

Anyway, today I’m gonna share with you guys what’s my top 10 things I have to bring when I’m on a travel job. There’s quite a number of people been asking me this question and finally I get to answer it.

1) A credit card incase I did not change enough cash to buy something or eat.

2) An extension cord or 3-way splitter for my precious gadgets: camera batteries, laptops and cell phones.

3) Toiletries and essential bathroom items

4) My makeup bag

5) My Laptop, because I need to do my other jobs such as adverts, drafts, edit my pictures with photoshop and also reply emails.

6) My Earphones, I listen to music when I’m waiting I just can’t live without music heh

7) My Hair curler, every hotel should provide hair curler right? Because I have short hair and I hate it when the bottom of my hair curled out not in that’s why I need a hair curler to save my hair. Nobody wants to have a bad hair day when they’re travelling right?

8) My Perfumes, as I’m a perfume addict so it’s a must for me to put some fragrance on.

9) Camera, I need high resolution pictures for my blog and other social platforms. By the way, if you’re curious what camera I’m using right now. It's actually Sony RX100 III

10) Cup noodles. Yup, cup noodles is the first fast food came across my mind when I’m too tired to go out to eat after a long day and it helps me to save up money especially when I’ve jobs in overseas. I don’t want to spend more than I earn LOL

Here’s an interesting fact of instant noodle that I read from an article, the first instant noodle was considered a luxury item in Japan’s supermarkets although today it's considered a college staple and something you’ll eat if you're broke. Momofuku Ando, the creator of Nissin ramen products, invented "Chicken Ramen," an instant snack that could be eaten easily and anywhere in 1958, when he noticed food was scarce after World War II. But when it arrived on Japanese supermarket shelves, it was seen as a very expensive product since fresh udon noodles sold for one-sixth the cost of "Chicken Ramen."

Mention of instant noodles, I have been a big fan of Mi Sedaap for a long time and it’s one of my favorite instant noodle brand. Finally now they had just launched their first Mi Sedaap cup noodles with 3 new delightful flavours in Malaysia. And I really want you guys to try them cause I really love it. Good food have to be shared right?

Mi Sedaap Soto- Soto soup is originated from Indonesia and lime juice is added to the soup ingredients to give the soup a fresher taste and fresh smell to the consumers. People who like sour taste will definitely love this.

Mi Sedaap Baso- Baso also known as meatball, is made from good qualities ingredients & nutrious soy bean. Meatball soup serving with its famous springy noodles gives you double sensation of delightful taste enjoyment. It tastes might a little bit strong.

Mi Sedaap Goreng - Its springy noodle with 5 times extra crunchy fried onions make you to enjoy every bite of it. That's why you will hear of kriuk-kriuk sound in your mouth when you bite on it cause its crunchy fried onions. This is my favourite flavour among all.

I guess that’s all for now. How about yours? What’s your top 10 things to bring when you travel?
